About Burtonsville Family Health

Burtonsville Family Health, LLC is a premiere Nurse Practitioner led primary care practice that blends a holistic approach with modern medicine for your whole family. By looking at the body as a whole and not each organ individually, we can treat the root of the problem, and not just put a band-aid on symptoms. We aim to educate and arm you with the knowledge to take the best care of yourself, so you can manage your health between visits with confidence. Nurse Practitioners believe in the prevention of disease and focus on promoting health versus the medical model of curing alone. We will not give you a pill and send you on your way. We will create a plan, give you expectations, written instructions and will answer any of your questions. You will be encouraged to participate in the planning, and will feel motivated to act. A healthy and energized you is achievable!

Bio

Provider

Lynn Masih, CRNP

Every day, I learn new things.  I learn how to improve my life, and ways to share that with you.  I believe that by taking care of myself, I can inspire you to do the same.  I spent about twelve years working as a Critical Care Registered Nurse largely in the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit providing care to the sickest people at the end of their chronic disease process.  I was motivated to help people before they ever get that sick, by getting my Master of Science in Nursing from Bowie State University, and then board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the nationally recognized American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in 2013.  Initially, I worked with a Family Physician in Burtonsville, MD and started on my own in independent practice on January 19, 2016.   As a Family Nurse Practitioner, my goal is for you to be in your best health, avoid surgery and hospitalizations, with as little pharmaceuticals or even no medication at all.

Personally, I have a supportive husband, and two wonderful sons that are sweet, funny, and keep me on my toes.  We love to see the world by traveling, and know how important it is to understand there is a world of cultures different from our own.  I believe that experience is more important than stuff. I am a PADI certified open-water diver and try to scuba dive when I can.  My last dive was between the North American and European tectonic plates in Silfra, Iceland.  I also enjoy water skiing and wake boarding and bicycling.  As important as exercise is to mental well-being and a variety of health conditions, I believe it should be enjoyable.  See my blog to find out more about me and what I’m up to.

It is my privilege to care for you and your family, as I know you have choices.  I treat each person with respect, no matter your background, education level, or ethnicity.  I hope you would consider me to be your practitioner, and you that you will be wowed by the care you receive.

Erin Hunter, CRNP

I grew up in Florida and graduated from nursing school at the University of Florida. I moved to Maryland to start working as a nurse. It was my work in the emergency department as a nurse that showed me firsthand the need for quality primary care to prevent disease. This motivated me to become a nurse practitioner, and I received my Masters of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University. I have worked in a variety of primary care settings as a nurse practitioner and value the professional relationship primary care providers have with patients. I am passionate about working with patients as a team to prevent disease and learn more about health.

In my spare time I enjoy mountain biking and gardening. I love to camp and check out mountain biking trails around the U.S.. I have two kids, and my husband and I love to take them outside and show them how great nature is!
