COVID-19 Alert and Office Update

As of June 1st, 2020, we will be limiting the amount of in-person visits available per week. To compensate, we are implementing televideo visits.
This decision is based on current State and Federal advice on social distancing.  We do not have any proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to keep us, staff and you all safe for now from the COVID-19, and would like each of you to stay home as well.

For all scheduled visits, needed follow-ups, or emergent needs, I am implementing televideo visits starting Wednesday 3/18/20.  To take part in this you will need:
• An email address or texting capability to receive a link
• Reliable high speed WiFi (for example Verizon FiOs or Comcast Xfinity)
• You will need a camera and microphone on your device (laptop, desktop, tablet, or smartphone)
This should be easy to use, such as clicking on a link, no downloading of anything. It is on a HIPAA compliant platform, though that rule has been waived federally. We will switch to a non-HIPAA compliant platform, if the service is overwhelmed due to new users.

 We are currently scheduling all pre-operative visits and annual physicals in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.  All follow-ups, sick visits, and same day needs will be done via televideo on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Our state officials and federal officials are pushing for continued televideo to help contain the spread of COVID-19. Federally, Medicare is covering these visits for the foreseeable future, we believe all commercial insurers to follow suit, as this information is changing daily.

If you need to schedule a televideo visit, call the office at 301-476-9000. We have implemented new safety measures, which include: calling the office upon arrival, having additional people stay outside of the building unless a guardian/caregiver, not having more than one patient in the office at a time, and not visiting the office if sick. If you feel sick, you may have COVID-19. Google has provided a testing website to help you give yourself a self-diagnosis.
